In support of the United Nations Development Programme, Mkt collaborated with Thinkerneur to design a brand identity for DIME, which aims to empower the South African township economy through digital enablement.

Rooted in building the foundational elements that support compliance and transparency in the township economy, we created a visual identity that builds on the UN’s existing four quadrant design. The DIME logo is a visual embodiment of the brand’s mission to drive Digital Innovation for Modernising the Independent Economy. Each icon within the four colorful squares represents one of DIME’s core pillars: Digital, Community, Spaza, and Network - highlighting the foundational elements that support its work in township economies. These squares mirror the lock-up of the UNDP wordmark logo, connecting the initiative to the masterbrand. The striking, pixel-inspired “DIME” wordmark reinforces the brand’s digital focus, symbolising innovation, real-time transparency, and a forward-looking approach rooted in township realities.


As part of UNDP’s commitment to accelerating sustainable development, this collaboration served as an entry point for DIME to launch to the public in November of 2025. The visual elements and narratives built to create this identity and brand guidelines continue to drive the engagement model that helps to drive enrollment of township entrepreneurs, volunteers and corporates alike.
